Wintry Nothing (7th Grade)

March 30, 2007

This is a poem that I found stashed in my bookshelf that I wrote for my English class in seventh grade. This is a clue to my upcoming new short story.

If you go outside on a cold winter night,
Then you will see nothing at all in your sight.
If you look up into the deep, dark sky,
Then you might see dancing stars with your eye.

They dance with each other or dance alone.
They dance as if with only one tone.
But if you look around there is nothing there,
Nothing at all, anywhere.

You glance around and suddenly realize,
That there is nothing here but stars and skies…
