Check Up: April 8, 2007

April 8, 2007

Well, as many of you know, I was sick from Thursday up until now, (I am still sick,) so I didn’t get a lot of writing done as I had hoped. I was so looking forward to this vacation so I could get a lot of writing done, but instead I have done nothing. This week from April 1 to April 7, 2007, I have written a total of 2,214 words. Sadly, I only read 53 pages of Great Expectations by Charles Dickens. I haven’t done anything all Easter Break and it sucks. Hopefully I will feel better and write more this upcoming week.

I’m Sick

April 6, 2007

I am sorry to say that I am very sick today (and also yesterday,) and I feel like crap. I usually do not write when I am in this state, but who knows, I may surprise you. I am just here to say, don’t expect anything from me today unless I start feeling better.

Our World: It Came to Me in a Dream – Chapter 6

    April 3, 2007

Silence hovered over the valley without the breath of one person. Life seemed to come to a rest as I watched the people around me suddenly realize what was happening. No one moved. No one spoke. No one blinked. Eyes grew wide with fear. Mouths fell open in astonishment. Then the panic finally set in.

I have added two extra categories to the Guide to my Blog. I will now post the pieces I am currently working on, and the next scheduled Magic Pens meetings if that helps anybody. Be sure to check the guide to my Blog often…it’s quite helpful.

    I Quit! (April Fools Joke)

    April 1, 2007

Seeing how nobody ever comes to my blog and I receive a very low amount of comments, (if I receive any comments at all,) I have decided to quit Magic Pens forever and never return. Why is this?

    Check Up: April 1, 2007

    April 1, 2007

Hooray! I have returned from my long absence from Magic Pens with many new posts. :D I have recently been in a very good mood basically all week, and I think that my return to Magic Pens may be part of the cause. Pretty much just Hannah knows all about it… Well anyways, this week from March 25 to April 1, 2007, I am proud to declare that I have written 8,154 words on Magic Pens. For reading, I read the first 18 pages of A Wrinkle in Time written by Madeleine L’engle and the first 36 pages of Great Expectations written by Charles Dickens. (Even though I have already read these, I felt like re-reading them because I haven’t read them in years.) I hope that I keep up with this frequent posting this upcoming week!

    Winter Death

    March 30, 2007

I tried a new technique with this story, so please read and tell me what you think of it. Please tell me if you can clearly see what is happening. The ending needs some work, so please help me with that.

There was nothing but silence that lay over the darkness of the forest as if a blanket had muffled out the very existence of life. The precious sun hid its warming luster from the Earth, finally allowing the moon to shed its own vague beams upon the snow covered land, and urging the millions of shining stars to emerge from their concealment. All across the vast navy of the night sky, sprinkles of light complimented the moon as it sang throughout the night, spreading its cold glow about the frost. The sky seemed to be an open doorway to the galaxy beyond as it shimmered in all its beauty, unharmed by man. The vastness did not seem to overpower the land before it, only add to the true artistry of nature.

    Arrangement of Poems (6th Grade)

    March 30, 2007

Ah-ha! I have found it! This new short story that I will have posted soon is an idea based off of this un-editted poem which I wrote back in sixth grade. I wrote it origanally in my free time, but then turned it in for a grade when we were assigned to write a collection of poems. Here is the poem, Winter Night, along with all of the others that were part of the assignment.
