Our World: Qurk Profile – Zanthyr

January 15, 2007

I have created a new species of Qurk that will be in my following stories. This new species is called a Zanthyr and have come to Our World with the other Qurks. After seeing the destruction and sorrow brought to our planet, they have joined together in an alliance against the remaining Qurks. Basically, they are on our side and are helping us. Feel free to create your own designs with this alien species and use them in your own stories.

Check Up: January 14, 2007

January 14, 2007

I am so proud of myself this week from January 7 to January 13, 2007 for I have returned to my usual, large amount of writing and have another high word count to display. It feels good to say that I have written 7,368 words on Magic Pens and 1,114 words off. This adds up to be a total of 8,482 words. I have surprisingly been keeping up with my reading just as well. I have read 9 chapters, (131 pages,) in DragonFlight by Anne McCaffrey and have read the short story, Full Circle. I hope to keep up these stats this week!

Lost in this World: Chapter 10 – Dormant Memories Awaken

January 13, 2007

Shep wandered around the city aimlessly as he felt that his very heart had been violently ripped from him. As his wounds slowly healed and scabbed over, they brought him great pain as he traveled. Growling and occasionally yelping, he despised the world around him.

Lost in this World: Chapter 9 – Depression in the City

January 13, 2007

Two teenagers walked into the room where Shep was now lying on the floor. One carried a leash while the other held a muzzle in his gloved hand. One looked to the other with a confused look on his face. “Is he dead?” he asked with a bit of fear reflecting from his eyes.

Happy or Sad Ending?

January 13, 2007

I have just written two more chapters of Lost in this World and am writing Chapter 9 right now. There will be ten chapters in total meaning I am getting close to the end. I have been debating about the ending every since I wrote Chapter 1, and I don’t know whether I should end it with happiness or sadness and confusion. Which would you rather read?

Lost in this World: Chapter 8 – Taunting Dreams

January 12, 2007

There was a sweet giggle as Shep rested on the cold floor. He could hear it in the back of his mind as his sight of the world faded away. It was a child’s laugh, a young girl’s laugh. He recognized it all too well. It was Lilly. There was a splash of pink across the dark backdrop of his mind as Lilly came into view. He could see her peacefully running through the park beside him with the beautiful budding spring trees glowing with joy. Her bright face was red, her eyes tightly closed, and a smile spread from ear to ear. She ran with her dog, laughing with her soft, bubbly laugh.

Shep recognized this dream. It was a memory, a memory from his past. A memory…of what his life used to be like. Happiness seemed so far from reach now.

Lost in this World: Chapter 7 – Battle with Death

January 12, 2007

- – -
“How did it go?”

“Well the dog is dead.”

“Dead? Oh, you mean the other dog.”

“Yes, Shep is fine. A little scratched, but fine.”

“So, what happened?”

“I just let the dog in, and Shep went straight for his neck. There was a bit of fighting, but with his sheer power he had no trouble bringing it down. He killed the dog just as we hoped.”

“Wow, this might have worked better than we were expecting.”

“Yes, a little too well.”

“What is wrong?”

“Well after he killed the dog, he went straight for me. He has no respect for us and he doesn’t fear us.”

“That could be a problem, but we can work it out. Just a minor…complication.”

The War Had Begun – A True Story

January 11, 2007

This is based on a true story that happened today, (Thursday, January 11, 2006,) and the only thing changed is that I cut my brother and mom out. (They were there when it happened in real life.) Anyways, this is a twist from my usual writing. Death, sadness, depression, revenge, and such… nowhere to be seen here! I felt like writing something different today. ^^

I was sitting in a booth at a McDonalds when it all began. A blank expression rested on my dull face showing my obvious boredom. I occasionally glanced to my left to peer through the reflective window into the play area. A young child was standing on the used cushion of the booth next to mine with the barrier of the wall between us. He was busy knocking his new toy on the glass by my head and smiling with a wide grin that lit up his face.

Our World: It Came to Me in a Dream – Chapter 4

January 9, 2007

- – -
“That is right. Keep coming. Come to Petra. Bring your people. Take them with you. Bring them. Bring them to Petra. Keep coming. You are almost there. Do not lose faith. Do not lose hope. Bring them. Bring your people to Petra.” The angels voice softly faded away into the depths of my dream as he smiled his sweet, embracing smile and radiated a golden glow that brought joy and tranquility to my soul. The angel waved his arm, bathed in robes of white, as my dream began to ripple like the precious waters of the oasis. Once again my eyes rested on the intricate designs of the rocky temples hidden within the deep valley. The protective, stone buildings that protruded from the canyon walls lay dormant, waiting within their lost location. Waiting with great patience…

Our World: It Came to Me in a Dream – Chapter 3

January 8, 2007

It was noon, and the heat was stifling. As I pulled my kaffiyeh around my dark head to shield myself from the sun’s rays, I glanced over my shoulder. My people were with me. They were following me to Petra, and they trusted me as their leader. I felt a sense of pride as I rode on in the lead, as if I was needed. My father rode alongside me with his chin held high. I was bringing great honor to the family.
